The view’s of Brittan’s ITV have spoken. Their choice for the 2006 driver of the year was none other than Michael Schumacher.
He may not have retired as an eight-time world champion, but Michael Schumacher still left the sport on the sort of high that his astonishing career deserved after a compelling final season.
Schumi earned an impressive 51% of the votes. Alonso came in a distant second with 29%. And even his maiden victory couldn’t propel home favorite Jenson Button past 7% of the votes.
I’m fairly certain that even next year, Michael will still be the top vote getter.
